Dementia-specific counselling relates to getting a diagnosis, understanding dementia, as well as the immediate and future care of the person with dementia, and/or family coping strategies.
Services may include:
- Supportive or therapeutic counselling for persons with dementia and their family partners in care.
- Pre-diagnosis, diagnosis, behaviour management, on through late stages and palliative care are covered.
- Information and referral to other supports for persons with dementia and their partners in care are also offered.

Dementia specific counselling
Interpretation services can be arranged in 75+ languages.
Our counselling services are provided by Registered Social Workers.
Counselling is available on a variety of issues such as how a diagnosis is made, understanding the disease, immediate and future care of the person with dementia, family concerns, stress management and coping strategies.
These services are available Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by phone, office appointment and limited outreach.
