Dementia Specific Counselling relates to getting a diagnosis, understanding dementia, immediate and future care of the person with dementia, and/or family coping strategies.
May include: supportive or therapeutic counselling for persons with dementia and their family partners in care ranging from pre-diagnosis, diagnosis, behaviour management, on through late stages and palliative care; information and referral to other supports for persons with dementia and their partners in care.

Our counselling services are provided by Registered Social Workers.
Counselling is available on a variety of issues such as how a diagnosis is made, understanding the disease, immediate and future care of the person with dementia, family concerns, stress management and coping strategies.
These services are available Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by phone, office appointment and limited outreach.
