As individuals age, their bodies will become more sensitive to the effects of alcohol and other drugs. These programs aim to help persons with addiction problems. Services listed are geared to seniors and are not necessarily dementia specific.

Population Served:

Seniors 55+ with substance misuse problems and mental health problems, for persons with dementia and their caregivers.
Services also available to residents in Long Term Care homes

COPA has a Geriatric Addictions specialis available for consultation to all Long term care homes in Toronto.
Services include: pre admission consultation, assessment, counselling, crisis intervention, group therapy and staff education.
