A support service that provides supervised programming in a group setting for adults to assist them to achieve and maintain their maximum level of functioning, to prevent premature and inappropriate institutionalization, and to provide respite and information for caregivers.
May include: planned social, recreational and physical activities, meals, and transportation (if required), personal support/attendant care and minor health care service (e.g., monitoring medication).
Usually located in a hospital, senior’s centre or other community location, the service is provided for all or part of a day, or, in a few locations, during the evening. User fees may apply.
Italian-Canadian seniors 50+ with cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias or brain injuries.

Cost of transportation – from $7.00 to $17.00 per day for home pick-up and return.
Subsidies available. Call for details.
Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Breakfast and lunch provided. Personal care available.
Linkages with other day programs, such as the Elderly Persons Centre, Frail Elderly and Transition Programs, as well as interaction with residents of the long term care facility.
Transportation limits: Yonge to Islington, St Clair to Steeles. Some exceptions can be made. Contact Villa Colombo for further details.
