Complex Continuing Care is a higher level of care than what is provided by Long-Term Care Centres and other nursing facilities. Generally, residents require 24-hour nursing care and access to complex medical and diagnostic services not offered elsewhere. Residents may have physical, cognitive or behavioural conditions that limit their ability to live independently in the community.
RHC provides care for adults with neurological disorders, other chronic illnesses and palliative needs through collaboration and partnership.

Complex continuing care
An individual admitted to a Complex Continuing Care facility is charged a monthly co-payment fee. It is the patients contribution towards accommodation and meals. The co-payment is based on the patients monthly income, established annually, and the number of dependents that a patient has. Co-payment is determined by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and fees are adjusted on a yearly basis.
A number of private and semi-private rooms are available. In addition to a patients monthly co-payment, semi-private rooms are available for $40.00 per day, and private rooms are available for $75.00 per day.
Our innovative interdisciplinary approach improves the quality of life for each patient.
The opening of the new state-of-the-art hospital in October 2009 has enabled Runnymede Healthcare Centre to more than double their capacity from 95 to 200 beds while expanding much needed programs and services. The hospital is now more equipped than ever to respond effectively and efficiently to increasing system wide pressures by reducing wait times to better meet the healthcare needs of Ontarians.
Comprehensive, inter-professional and enhanced services offered in the 180,000 square foot facility address the holistic needs of the patients. Together with supporting areas the professional team includes: medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, clinical nutrition, social work, activation therapy, pharmacy, dentistry and chiropody. This collaborative approach has positioned Runnymede Healthcare Centre to continue leading the way in specialized complex continuing care.
