This service provides supportive or therapeutic counselling, education, information and referral to both the person with dementia and their caregiver at all stages of the disease, from before diagnosis to the late stage. Issues such as getting diagnosis, understanding dementia, immediate and future care of the person with dementia as well as family coping may be discussed.

Individual counselling available for caregivers who need : to learn about stress management techniques, to take time for self-care, help with long term facility placement, to learn about the caregiver role, bereavement support, to access community resources.
Group counselling is available to caregivers who need to: share with caregivers who experience similar circumstances, participate in educational workshops, take time for self-care.
