Elder abuse includes any act of commission or omission that results in harm to an elderly person. Programs and services are aimed at preventing, identifying, investigating and/or mitigating the effects of elder abuse. Programs are specific to each organization. Please refer to each specific organization for more detailed information.
Anyone experiencing difficulties with a long term care setting, including residents and friends or families of residents.

There is no cost for the services, but a membership fee gets one on the mailing list for our quarterly newsletter and supports the work of the organization.
Yearly membership: regular – $20.00; seniors $15.00; organizations – $35.00.
Provides information, advice and support for families of residents or prospective residents of long-term care homes, and advocates for better care for residents in all long-term care homes in Ontario

Advocates on behalf of elderly (including individual residents and their families) and others in nursing homes or regulated long-term care facilities * aims to ensure adequate nutrition, bed care, medical treatment, respect for privacy, etc. * members receive 4 newsletters per year * facility check-list available that suggests questions to ask long-term care facilities you are considering * advocacy handbook
