Regular visits from a trained volunteer to a senior in their home, hospital or long-term care home to provide companionship and social support. May include shopping or taking a senior out for daily living activities.

Service Limitation:

Preschool, elementary and secondary school students participate in Social Visiting programs within nursing homes, homes for the aged, retirement homes, hospitals, health care centres and seniors buildings.
Staff work with teachers and institutional staff to develop intergenerational program content that is appropriate for the age levels of the children and the physical and cognitive abilities of the seniors involved in the programs. The students and seniors engage in age-appropriate, social and recreational activities that are developed based on the needs and interests of all ages.
