Programs that offer a facilitator lead group session in which unrelated groups of individuals, couples or families discuss their attitudes, feelings and problems related to their caregiver role and, with input from other members of the group, attempt to achieve greater self and interpersonal understanding and adjustment and explore solutions to their problems. May be ongoing or time limited.

Service Limitation:

Scotiabank Learning Centre provides support groups for caregivers.

Separate monthly support groups for:

  • Husbands: First Tuesday of month 9:30 to 11:30 am,
  • Wives: First Wednesday of month 9:30 to 11:30 am
  • Adult Children: First Thursday of month 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
    If family member is registered with Adult Day program, family caregiver can request a spot for him/her to stay at program free of charge while caregiver is attending support group.
