Adult Day Programs
SPRINT - Senior Peoples' Resources in North Toronto
A support service that provides supervised programming in a group setting for adults to assist them to achieve and maintain their maximum level of functioning, to prevent premature and inappropriate institutionalization, and to provide respite and information for caregivers.
May include: planned social, recreational and physical activities, meals, and transportation (if required), personal support/attendant care and minor health care service (e.g., monitoring medication).
Usually located in a hospital, senior’s centre or other community location, the service is provided for all or part of a day, or, in a few locations, during the evening. User fees may apply.
Persons living in the community who are physically frail, or who have a cognitive or physical impairment.
Hwy 401 to Bloor St, Bayview Ave to Bathurst St
Adult day programs
$21.00 per day with subsidies available.
Escorted transportation available to those who have no other means of getting to and from the program. Cost $3.50 each way or $7.00 return trip.
Programs are offered at the Anne Johnston Health Station, 2398 Yonge Street, at Montgomery Avenue (two blocks north of Eglinton Avenue).
Attendance can be arranged to meet participant’s needs, a variety of days and times are available including:
Week Day program: Monday to Friday 9:30 to 3:00 p.m.
Adult Afternoon/Evening programs: provided 2:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
Saturday program: provided 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Includes a snack and lunch or dinner.
