We provide free dementia support to anyone touched by dementia in Toronto, whether you’re a person with dementia or their family member, friend, or care partner. As well, we can support people impacted by any type of dementia including Alzheimer’s disease, Frontotemporal dementia, Lewy Body dementia, Vascular dementia, and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

Some of our Support Options:

Counselling: Our social workers provide safe, confidential counselling where you can talk about your experience, learn about dementia, gain practical coping strategies to help cope with your own or a family member’s dementia, discover local programs and resources, stay informed on the latest research, and learn how to plan for the future.

Support Groups: Join a FREE dementia support group to learn from the experiences of others, share insights, or cope with the loss of a loved one. Our support groups are facilitated by registered social workers, offered during the daytime or evenings, and available to anyone touched by dementia.

Dementia Workshops: Our programs and workshops address topics that will help you and your family live well with dementia and navigate the changes the disease brings.

Care Navigation: Get the assistance you need connecting to various dementia support and services. Our highly experienced First Link Care Navigators can help get you started or simply coordinate your existing services.

Caregiver Project for Seniors: The Caregiver Project for Seniors is operated by the Alzheimer Society of Toronto, but is a non-disease specific program, meaning that the caregiver may be providing care to an individual with any kind of disability or physical/medical need. The program is aimed to help maximize the autonomy, capacity, and resiliency of individuals who are primary caregivers supporting older adults living at home.
