Yee Hong provides different Adult Day Programs to frail seniors, seniors living with dementia, and/or other chronic diseases.
Through various social, recreational, educational and physical activities, the Adult Day Program aims to:
1) encourage participants to maintain and enhance their abilities;
2) support participants to live independently in the community; and
3) provide support and information services to caregivers.
Each Adult Day Program has its own specialty and provides activities tailored to the needs of different groups of seniors. For instance, while our Memory Training & Activity Centre utilizes principles of neuroplasticity to train the cognitive abilities of seniors with mild dementia, our Special Day Program is suited for seniors living with moderate to severe dementia. We also facilitate three Integrated Adult Day Programs in Markham, Mississauga and Scarborough for seniors presenting with various chronic conditions, as well as a smaller subgroup specifically designed for stroke survivors under 65 years of age. Moreover, we established a Community Health & Education Centre that facilitates an Adult Day Program focusing on community health promotion and support to seniors with Parkinson’s disease or Mandarin-speaking.
